Cheetahs Make A Comeback In India After 70 Years From Namibia.

As part of an ambitious and hotly contested plan to reintroduce cheetahs to South Asia, eight big cats from Namibia flew on a chartered cargo flight to the northern Indian city of Gwalior.

Altogether 8 cheetahs have been brought to India, of which five are female and 3 male. India's most beautiful national park will serve as the new home.

On Saturday morning, September 17, 2022, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the cats into their enclosure.

Due to hunting and habitat loss, cheetahs became the only predator animal extinct in India in 1952.

The Indian govt has decided to shift cheetahs to Kuno National Park as the place is conducive.

A cheetah fills its stomach by eating small deer, Gray langur, wild pigs, etc. Kuno National Park has a high number of these animals. As a result, cheetahs will have no shortage of food.

Kuno National Park also has lakes and ponds, so there will never be a shortage of water.
