Today 27th September 2022, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, landed in Tokyo to attend the funeral of the former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.
Before attending the funeral, Mr. Modi met with the present Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida.
Indian Prime Minister Tweeted that he will also meet Shinzo's widow, Akie Abe, for condolences on behalf of all the Indians.
Mr. Modi also stated that he would continue working on a good relationship between India and Japan.
It is expected that the representative of more than 100 countries shall attend Shinzo's funeral.
Arindam Bagchi, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, also tweeted that PM Narendra Modi had arrived in Tokyo and he will participate in Shinzo Abe's funeral.
Shinzo Abe was shot dead while delivering a campaign speech for LDP Candidates.
At a media, Vinay Kwatra (Foreign Secretary) also stated that Mr. Narendra Modi would attend Abe's funeral at Budokan.
